DALLAS — Alaska Airlines (AS) has added a new global airline partner, Philippine Airlines (PR). The Seattle-based airline has partnered with the flag carrier of the Philippines, PR, opening up improved connectivity for passengers on both carriers. PR becomes AS’s 32nd airline partner.
“Philippine Airlines is a terrific addition to our roster of global airlines offering world-class service and amenities. We’re excited to make this announcement as we mark the beginning of Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. The large Filipino communities living in Hawai‘i, California and Washington state can travel on Philippine Airlines long-haul, widebody aircraft and soon earn valuable Mileage Plan miles on their transpacific journeys.” said Brett Catlin, Vice President of Loyalty, Alliances and Sales at Alaska Airlines

Partnership Offers Enhanced Connectivity
With its new frequent flyer partnership, AS becomes PR’s first loyalty partner in North America, enabling travelers to book flights to exotic destinations such as Palawan and Boracay in the Philippines.
“We are proud to partner with Alaska Airlines to deliver even greater value to our Mabuhay Miles members. This strategic collaboration significantly expands our network and flight options, enabling our members to enjoy enhanced connectivity and flexibility in how and where they use their miles. It’s an exciting step forward in enriching the overall travel experience we offer.” said Alvin M. Miranda, Philippine Airlines’ Vice President for Marketing
It will now be possible for travelers to book flights on PR directly through AS’s website. They will also be able to earn Mileage Plan miles and redeem them for flights operated by PR.
As Asia’s oldest airline, PR offers a variety of flight options between AS’ hubs in Honolulu (HNL) and the West Coast to Manila (MNL) with five nonstop flights a week from HNL; three nonstops a week from Seattle (SEA); two daily nonstops from Los Angeles (LAX); and a daily nonstop flights from San Francisco (SFO). In addition, travelers can connect to several destinations in Asia and elsewhere via PR’s hub in MNL.
Furthermore, the partnership builds on the existing agreement that Hawaiian Airlines (HA) has with PR. By having AS and HA as partners, PR can offer travelers enhanced connectivity.
