Thai Airways to Lease Five A321neo from BOC Aviation

DALLAS — On April 23, 2025, BOC Aviation announced the lease of five Airbus A321neo aircraft to Thai Airways International (TG).

Thai's new narrow-body aircraft, from BOC Aviation’s order book, will be CFM International LEAP-1A powered and should bolster the carrier’s regional operations while bringing a new generation of narrow-body capability to the airline's fleet.

BOC Aviation's Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Steven Townend, said, 'We are confident to be renewing our longstanding relationship with the Thai flag carrier.”

“We are delighted to be back working with long-time customer, Thai Airways,” he said, according to BOC Aviation. “The delivery of these advanced technological aircraft is a significant deal in the growth of our fleet and will support Thai Airways as they grow their fleet and regional network.”

In terms of operations, TG is at a stage of recovery and growth, which, following the pandemic, needs to improve the effectiveness of their fleet. The A321neo, which has enhanced fuel economy and range, complements the carrier's strategic initiatives of more effectively and sustainably serving the system with regional destinations.

The lease agreement highlights BOC Aviation’s long-standing relationship with leading carriers throughout Asia, as well as its strategy of investing in new-generation aircraft.

The Singapore-based aircraft lessor is expanding its fleet with modern, fuel-efficient models while working with airlines globally to meet their evolving needs.
