DALLAS — Avianca (AV) has expanded its route network by launching four new nonstop flights, enhancing connectivity between the US, Puerto Rico, and Latin America.
The new routes include Tampa to Bogotá, Fort Lauderdale to Medellín, Miami to San José (Costa Rica), and San Juan to San José (Costa Rica), offering travelers greater accessibility for both business and tourism.

New Route Operations
These flights will utilize Airbus A320 aircraft, each capable of accommodating up to 180 passengers. Altogether, the new routes will provide approximately 8,000 weekly seats, allocated as follows:
- Tampa - Bogotá: 1,440 weekly seats
- Fort Lauderdale - Medellín: 2,520 weekly seats
- Miami - San José: 2,520 weekly seats
- San Juan - San José: Three weekly flights
“In the past year, we transported more than 38 million passengers, consolidating the largest route network in our history. Now, in 2025, we continue to enhance access and connectivity with these new direct routes,” said Frederico Pedreira, CEO of Avianca.
“With 43 direct routes now connecting the U.S. to Latin America, we are enabling millions of passengers to explore new destinations.”

- Flight AV629: Departs 2:10 p.m., Arrives 3:25 p.m. (Monday, Thursday, Friday) – Starts March 31, 2025
- Flight AV628: Departs 7:30 a.m., Arrives 12:40 p.m.
Bogotá-Tampa
- Flight AV194: Departs 07:15 a.m., Arrives 12:15 p.m. (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday) – Starts March 30, 2025
- Flight AV195: Departs 2:15 p.m., Arrives 5:10 p.m.
Medellín-Fort Lauderdale
- Flight AV190: Departs 10:20 a.m., Arrives 2:45 p.m. (Daily)
- Flight AV191: Departs 4:30 p.m., Arrives 6:50 p.m.
San José-Miami
- Flight AV604: Departs 8:25 a.m., Arrives 1:15 p.m. (Daily)
- Flight AV605: Departs 9:40 p.m., Arrives 10:40 p.m.
