DALLAS — LATAM Airlines (LA) has unveiled its new Premium Business cabins, set to launch in Q1 2025.
Developed in collaboration with PriestmanGoode, the Recaro R7 suites feature granite tables inspired by the Andes, sand dunes-inspired interior contours, and copper accents, all South American design elements.
Fully private seats with sliding doors, convertible into comfortable beds, and direct aisle access are among the amenities. Each suite also has a dedicated shoe compartment, ample storage, and USB-A and USB-C charging ports. An 18-inch high-definition screen provides entertainment.
Jaime Cornejo, LATAM Airlines’ Cabin Interior & IFEC Manager, said, “This design celebrates our region, its landscapes, and culture, delivering a superior travel experience.”
LATAM's Boeing 787 Dreamliners
The first aircraft with these cabins is being retrofitted at LA’s São Carlos maintenance center, where the group has invested US$7 million in a new specialized hangar for Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
In September, the LATAM group began renovating 24 Boeing 787 aircraft, investing US$360 million. These aircraft will have new seats, enhanced in-flight entertainment, and upgraded design elements.
LATAM Airlines flies its Boeing 787 Dreamliner on various long-haul routes, connecting South America with destinations across the globe. Some key routes include:
- Santiago to Sydney, Australia (via Auckland)
- São Paulo to European cities such as Frankfurt, Milan, London, Rome, Paris, Barcelona, Madrid, and Lisbon
- Lima to Madrid
- Santiago to Los Angeles, New York, and Miami
- São Paulo to North American cities like Boston, New York, Orlando, and Miami
The airline also uses the 787 Dreamliner for its route between Santiago, Chile and Tel Aviv, Israel, with a stop in São Paulo, Brazil.
With the recent order of 10 new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, LA plans to expand its network and increase capacity on popular routes, potentially adding new destinations and frequencies to its existing long-haul network.
