JetBlue, Etihad Airways Announce Loyalty Partnership

DALLAS – New York-based (NYC) JetBlue (B6) and Abu Dhabi-based (AUH) Etihad Airways (EY) have announced the addition of loyalty program benefits to their codeshare partnership.

The airlines have added loyalty benefits as part of their long-standing codeshare partnership. This agreement, made between the two airlines was announced at Dubai’s Arabian Travel Market on May 7. According to the B6 release, the arrangement is effective from May 8, 2024.

As part of the partnership, members of B6’s TrueBlue loyalty program and members of Etihad Guest, the loyalty program of EY, will now be able to earn and redeem points in the program of their choice when flying across the network of either airline.

Comments from Airlines

“JetBlue has been an important partner for Etihad for almost a decade and we’re thrilled to be extending this partnership to our loyalty programmes, benefitting both of our airlines’ valued members. We look forward to welcoming and rewarding TrueBlue members,” said Mark Potter, managing director, Etihad Guest.

“As a successful partner since 2014, we are excited to introduce loyalty benefits as part of our codeshare partnership with Etihad,” said Christopher Buckner, vice president of loyalty and partnerships, JetBlue.

The customer loyalty offerings build on almost a decade-long partnership, which delivers access between New York and Boston (BOS) to Etihad’s global network of more than 70 destinations and over 40 destinations across JetBlue’s network within North, Central and south America.

“This partnership extension delivers both JetBlue TrueBlue and Etihad Guest members more ways to earn and redeem on travel, making exploring either airline’s network of top global destinations even more rewarding.” Buckner said.

Etihad Expands US Operations

Etihad has recently deployed its Airbus A380 on flights to New York (JFK). The superjumbo operates flights between AUH and JFK. EY has also reintroduced scheduled services to BOS in the US. Last week, EY entered into new interline agreements with five carriers from five countries.

“This also further bolsters Etihad’s commitment to the U.S. market, following the recent launch of our direct service connecting Abu Dhabi and Boston, as well as introducing our popular A380 onto the New York route, expanding capacity.” Potter said.

This partnership complements the respective programs’ portfolio of redemption options with Etihad Guest miles redeemable against a wide range of experiences from flights and worldwide hotel stays to converting miles into a reward card for shopping.
