Emirates Expands in Gatwick with Daily A350-900 Flight

DALLAS — Emirates is set to add a daily flight to its London Gatwick Airport (LGW) schedule.

The airline currently operates three daily flights to LGW; the new service will increase the total to four daily flights between its Dubai (DXB) hub and LGW. The additional service is scheduled to begin on February 8, 2026.

Flight EK069 will depart DXB at 17:05, arriving at LGW at 20:50. The return flight, EK070, will leave Gatwick at 23:55, arriving back in DXB at 11:00 the following day.

With this addition, Emirates will operate a total of 12 daily flights to London across all three airports: London Heathrow Airport (LHR), LGW, and Stansted Airport (STN), and will increase its total UK operations to 140 weekly flights, serving key destinations including Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Glasgow, and Edinburgh, operated by the A350.

A350-900 Assigned to New Gatwick Flight

The new flight, EK069/070, will be operated by EK's latest Airbus A350-900 aircraft. The aircraft features a three-class configuration, including 38 lie-flat Business Class seats in a 1-2-1 layout, 28 Premium Economy seats, and 238 Economy Class seats.

Passengers can look forward to cutting-edge tech touches such as wireless charging in Business Class, electric window blinds featuring the Emirates Ghaf tree motif in premium cabins, digital in-flight menus on ICE screens, and more.

For a significant period, Emirates’ fleet was dominated by just two aircraft types: the Boeing 777 and the Airbus A380. The addition of the A350 marks a strategic expansion and diversification of the carrier’s long-haul fleet.

This move will continue as EK begins taking delivery of its Boeing 787 Dreamliners soon.
