British Airways Relinquishes Dallas Route to American

DALLAS — British Airways (BA) is removing a Dallas, TX, from its U.S. network. According to BA's summer 2025 schedule updated, it will discontinue flying between the London and Dallas by March 30, 2025.

Initially, BA planned to fly an A380 on this route next summer, but this has been downgraded to an A350, and now it has been transferred to American Airlines (AA).

Ben Schlappig from onemileatatime.com notes that BA has consistently flown between London Heathrow Aiport (LHR) and Dallas-Fort Worth Airport (DFW), using the Airbus A380, the world’s largest passenger jet. This route, he says, is logical given that DFW is AA's largest hub, providing ample connectivity.

British Airways and AA are oneworld alliance members and share a transatlantic joint venture, enabling them to coordinate schedules, fares, and revenue. Currently, AA operates four flights daily in the market, while BA offers one flight per day.

Replacing the BA route, AA will add a fifth daily flight between Dallas and London, scheduled to coincide with the previously scheduled BA flight.
