DALLAS — Boeing has reached a final deal to sell a portion of its Digital Aviation Solutions business to Thoma Bravo, a top software investment group, comprising its Jeppesen, ForeFlight, AerData, and OzRunways assets. The total value of this all-cash deal is US$10.55 billion.
To offer fleet maintenance, diagnosis, and repair services to both commercial and defense clients, Boeing will continue to maintain its core digital capabilities that leverage data specific to both aircraft and the fleet. Predictive and prognostic maintenance insights will continue to be provided by this digital knowledge.
The Digital Aviation Solutions division of Boeing employs approximately 3,900 people globally, including those involved in sales and those who remain with Boeing. Boeing is working with Thoma Bravo to ensure a smooth transition for staff members while fulfilling all commitments to customers.
Thoma Bravo has acquired or invested in approximately "520 companies representing approximately US$275 billion in enterprise value (including control and non-control investments)." Subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approval, the transaction is anticipated to close by the end of 2025.
