Air Canada Expands Winter Caribbean, US Routes

DALLAS — Air Canada (AC) has announced a significant expansion of its winter sun network for the 2024-25 season. This enhancement includes new routes and increased flight frequencies to popular vacation destinations in the Caribbean and the United States.

Air Canada is introducing new routes from Montreal to Saint Maarten, and from Ottawa and Quebec City to Tulum. Additionally, there will be increased flights from major Canadian cities such as Halifax, Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver to popular destinations in Florida, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President, Revenue and Network Planning at Air Canada, expressed excitement about the expanded services, noting that these additions provide more options for Canadians to reach sought-after leisure destinations during the winter months.

"With the addition of new services to SaintMaarten from Montreal complementing our services from Toronto, Air Canada offers the most weekly frequencies from Canada to this binational, multicultural Caribbean island."

The new routes and increased frequencies are already available for booking. however, these new routes and service enhancements are subject to final government approval.

Montreal

New Route:

  • Montreal (YUL) to Saint Maarten (SXM) - 1 weekly flight

Increased Frequencies:

  • Miami (MIA) - 3 daily flights (up from 2)
  • Phoenix (PHX) - 4 weekly flights (up from 2)
  • San José (SJO) - 1 daily flight (up from 3 weekly)
  • Providenciales (PLS) - 3 weekly flights (up from 2)
  • Fort-de-France (FDF) - 6 weekly flights (up from 5)
  • Tulum (TQO) - 5 weekly flights (new route)

Toronto

Increased Frequencies:

  • Sarasota (SRQ) - 4 weekly flights (up from 3)
  • New Orleans (MSY) - 5 weekly flights (up from 4)
  • Los Cabos (SJD) - 5 weekly flights (up from 3)
  • Saint Martin (SXM) - 4 weekly flights (up from 2)
  • Bermuda (BDA) - 4 weekly flights (up from 3)
  • Tulum (TQO) - 4 weekly flights (new route)

Seasonal Resumptions:

  • Orlando (MCO) - 2 weekly flights
  • Fort Lauderdale (FLL) - 2 weekly flights
  • Punta Cana (PUJ) - 2 weekly flights
  • Cancún (CUN) - 1 weekly flight

Ottawa

New Route:

  • Ottawa (YOW) to Tulum (TQO) - 1 weekly flight

Increased Frequencies:

  • Tampa (TPA) - 2 weekly flights (up from 1)
  • Orlando (MCO) - 4 weekly flights (up from 2)
  • Fort Lauderdale (FLL) - 6 weekly flights (up from 4)
  • Punta Cana (PUJ) - 4 weekly flights (up from 3)

Vancouver

Increased Frequency:

  • Vancouver (YVR) to Cancún (CUN) - 2 daily flights (up from 1)

Halifax

Increased Frequency:

  • Halifax (YHZ) to Tampa (TPA) - 3 weekly flights (up from 2)
