Air Arabia Debuts Nonstop to Poland from Sharjah

DALLAS — Today, Middle Eastern and North African low-cost carrier (LCC) Air Arabia (G9) inaugurated it daily nonstop flight from Sharjah International Airport (SHJ) to Kraków John Paul II International Airport (KRK).

Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Airport Authority (SAA), and Jakub Kacper Sławek, the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to the UAE, officially inaugurated the new destination, joined by officials and managers from both SAA and Air Arabia.

The UAE-Poland nonstop route, announced back in January, will allow customers from the Lower Silesian airport to fly to three destinations in the United Arab Emirates: Dubai (DXB) with FlyDubai (FZ) and Abu Dhabi (AUH) with Wizz Air (W6).

The SHJ-KRK flight Schedule is as follows: G9730 departs SHJ at 9:00 a.m. local time, arriving in Kraków at 1:00 p.m. G9731 departs KRK at 1:55 p.m. and arrives in Sharjah at 9:35 p.m., local time, after a 7:40 flight time. There will be a 50-minute turnaround period. G9 uses an Airbus A320 for the route.

Comments from SAA Chairperson

The Emirates News Agency (WAM) quotes Al Midfa as stating, “The launch of this new air route meets the increasing demand in the travel and cargo market between the UAE and the Republic of Poland, aligning with the growth of mutual relations in various economic, commercial, and tourism fields, as well as the events and conferences sector across various activities, increasing tourist interest in Sharjah which offers various tourism, entertainment, natural, environmental, and heritage attractions.”

WAM added that SHJ, the only airport in Sharjah capable of international flights as of 2022, is linked to 26 international airlines, offering flights to over 100 destinations across 63 countries.
