Vietjet Unveils State-of-the-Art Maintenance Hub

DALLAS — Vietjet (VJ) has officially inaugurated its new Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Center at Long Thanh International Airport (LTH), marking a significant milestone in Vietnam’s aviation industry. The project, made possible through a $100 million investment, includes the construction of Hangars 3 and 4 at the still-under-construction airport.

The center is equipped with modern, international-standard facilities and can service up to 10 aircraft simultaneously. While it will primarily support Vietjet’s (VJ) growing fleet, the facility is also set up to assist both domestic and international airlines.

By establishing this state-of-the-art maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility, Vietjet (VJ) aims to streamline aircraft servicing and significantly reduce maintenance costs. The new center not only strengthens operational efficiency for the airline but also contributes to enhancing Vietnam’s overall aviation infrastructure.

Paris Air Show Orders Boost Maintenance Needs

The opening coincides with VJ’s major aircraft order announced at the Paris Air Show, which includes 100 Airbus A320neo family aircraft and 20 Airbus A330-900 planes.

This expansion, which covers both short-haul and long-haul operations, underscores the airline’s growing maintenance needs and makes the new MRO facility essential for ensuring operational efficiency, cost reduction, and high safety standards across the fleet.

The new MRO facility is expected to play a key role in supporting VJ's rapid growth while also enhancing Vietnam’s aviation capabilities. It will help Long Thanh International Airport (LTH) handle increasing air traffic and position the country as a regional hub for aircraft maintenance and engineering.
