Trip Report: Flying Condor from Milan to Frankfurt

MILAN Welcome to a new Airways trip report that will take us from Milan Malpensa (MXP) to Anchorage (ANC), Alaska, via Frankfurt (FRA) with Condor (DE). Our beloved striped airline!

Before heading to the check-in counter, I was able to see the first result of the latest renovation work that Malpensa Terminal 1 is currently undergoing for the upcoming Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, which is rapidly approaching.

After this quick diversion, I headed directly to the Business class check-in desk to drop off my checked bag. Today we are flying Condor Business Class.
A small disclaimer: my tickets were provided free of charge, but as always, my review will be fair and impartial.

Having dropped off my bag, I headed directly to the Fast Track security check, which is available to all premium passengers. In just a few minutes, I was airside and headed to the gate.

Condor Business Class tickets provide access to lounges worldwide, and in Milan Malpensa, the Monteverdi Lounge is the one available for use.
Conveniently located in the central area of Satellite A, just a few meters from the gates, “Monteverdi” is a small lounge offering a buffet (a breakfast buffet was available at the time), fresh fruits, and a selection of hot and cold beverages.

As it was crowded at 8 a.m., I decided to grab a quick coffee and a cold beverage before heading to gate A08.

Boarding began a few minutes early, divided by group zones, and I was soon seated in 1A. Today's flight was operated by Condor's blue-striped D-AICA, a 27-year-old Airbus A320-200 configured with 180 seats divided into two classes, featuring a 3-3 configuration with the first six rows dedicated to business class, where the middle seat is blocked. See the seating map here, courtesy of Aerolopa.

The flight took off on time and soon after service began with a sandwich, drinks, and a little bag of gummy airplanes, obviously packaged in a striped blue and white bag. Before descending, the crew distributed a small box containing two chocolate delicacies called "PRALINEN."

After only 53 minutes of flight, we were already approaching Frankfurt (FRA), and we landed on runway 25R 10 minutes early, according to the schedule. We then proceeded to gate A16 for a quick taxi to conclude the first part of the trip

Stay tuned for the report of the second leg!
