DALLAS — STARLUX Airlines (JX) has taken delivery of its first Airbus A350-1000, becoming the 11th global operator of the largest in-production Airbus widebody and elevating the type to flagship status in its long-haul fleet.
The Taipei-based carrier’s first A350-1000 is the first of 18 on order and joins a growing all-Airbus fleet that already includes 10 A350-900s, A330-900s and A321neos. The -1000s will be deployed on JX’s premier long-haul services from Taipei to Europe and North America, as well as select Asia-Pacific routes, complementing the airline’s existing network strategy.
To mark the milestone, JX has rolled out a new livery featuring a carbon-fibre motif and a prominent “1000” on the fuselage, underscoring both the advanced composite design of the A350 family and the aircraft’s role as the airline’s new flagship.
Airbus notes that the A350 delivers up to a 25% reduction in fuel burn and CO₂ emissions versus previous-generation widebodies, and is already certified to operate with up to 50% sustainable aviation fuel, with a target of 100% SAF capability by 2030.
