Oman Air Launches Singapore, Copenhagen, Baghdad Routes

MUSCAT — Oman Air (WY) has announced the launch of direct flights between Muscat and Singapore, commencing 2 July 2026. WY will resume service to Singapore with four weekly nonstop flights on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, operated by Boeing 737-8 aircraft. The new route will enable passengers to connect with oneworld partners to destinations in Australia, Japan, and Hong Kong.

WY also announced its latest European destination, Copenhagen (CPH). The Danish capital will be served twice weekly by its Boeing 737-8, starting 20 December. Flight WY425 will run via Baghdad (BGW), providing Denmark’s first non-stop connection to the Iraqi capital. This marks WY’s first fifth-freedom connection, enabling the Boeing 737-8 to stretch into Northern Europe and opening a new market. In July, WY launched non-stop flights to Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS. Operated by the Boeing 787-9, WY recently confirmed the service to the Dutch capital. 

As part of its ongoing transformation and return to profitability, WY is focusing on enhancing its point-to-point traffic, sustainably growing its network to support Oman’s ambitions as a destination. In total, WY announced four new routes in less than two weeks. The latest announcements came just a few days after the announcement of its latest regional destination, Taif (TIF). The new service to Taif is scheduled to begin on January 31, 2026, and will operate three times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

WY’s Boeing 737-8s are equipped with 12 Business Class and 150 Economy Class seats. The front Business Class cabin is arranged in a 2-2 layout. It features the reclinable Collins Aerospace Air Rest seat, with a width of 20” and row pitch of 46.6”. Each seat is equipped with a 17” HD in-flight-entertainment system and universal charger. In Economy Class, the airline has installed the Collins Aerospace Meridian seat in a 3-3 layout, coming with a 10.2” HD IFE display, 30.7” of legroom, and USB chargers.
