DALLAS — Today, Oman Air (WY) announced the launch of non-stop flights between Muscat (MCT) and Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS). This new flight represents the only connection between the two countries. Starting July 1st, the airline will operate this non-stop route between the Omani and Dutch capitals four times a week.
Flights WY171 will depart from MCT at 1:10 pm local time and arrive in Amsterdam at 6:55 pm. The return flight, WY172, will leave AMS at 8:25 pm local time, landing in MCT at 5:40am the following day, allowing for a seamless connection at Oman Air’s hub.
Like most of Oman Air’s European network, the route will be served by WY’s Boeing 787-9. The airline will not introduce its latest cabin, the Business Studio, on the Amsterdam route, as this new ultra-premium offering will primarily remain available only on flights from MCT to London Heathrow (LHR) and Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (BKK).
Passengers can access the oneworld lounge in Amsterdam, Europe's first and the world's second after Seoul Incheon. The new route was announced at a signing ceremony attended by Con Korfiatis, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Oman Air, and Pieter van Oord, CEO of Royal Schiphol Group, during His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s state visit to the Netherlands.

Comments from Oman Air
“We’re proud to enter Amsterdam, marking our first direct connection to this vibrant city. As we continue to grow, we focus on destinations that not only align with our strategic goals but also offer long-term opportunities for tourism and business exchange. Europe is our second largest market in terms of revenue and Amsterdam represents a key hub in the region for business and leisure travel. Moreover, the growing economic ties with Oman make it an ideal addition to our expanding European network,” said Con Korfiatis.
Oman Air’s European Network
Recently, WY launched its second daily flight to London Heathrow (LHR), further consolidating its presence in the United Kingdom’s capital. The flight will allow passengers to connect with the airline’s new oneworld alliance partners to destinations in Europe and North America.
In October, Oman Air announced its second Italian destination, Rome Fiumicino, where WY operates its Boeing 737-8 with four weekly frequencies. Oman Air is still undergoing a complex transformation, which includes fleet and network restructuring.
As the airline prepares to join the oneworld Alliance in the Summer of 2025, more announcements can be expected from Oman’s national airline.
