HAMBURG — At this year’s Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX), Lufthansa Technik is introducing “The BOW,” a modular narrowbody cabin concept. The new cabin architecture combines the expertise of two leading brands. BMW Group firm Designworks contributes its automotive design background and experience in luxury and technology, while Lufthansa Technik provides advanced technologies and established VIP cabin engineering.
The companies have developed a design platform that demonstrates the future of group VIP travel. The cabin serves as a modular platform, allowing early and personalized customer input. Operators can reconfigure layouts, suite arrangements, color schemes, and functional zones to match specific mission profiles, whether prioritizing open social areas, a larger bar, or increased privacy for meetings.
Designed for shared exclusivity
The target audience includes groups of high-profile users, such as corporate boards, sports teams, or touring bands. Each private suite accommodates one or two travelers and can be used for meetings or shared dining. Every suite offers dedicated personal storage for items like instruments or equipment, and optional movable partitions allow the cabin to transition between private and social settings.
All suites can be closed individually, and some compartments feature automated sections to adjust privacy. This flexibility enables operators to accommodate up to 28 passengers without sacrificing exclusivity or comfort.
A sequence of distinctive spaces
The cabin design is structured into several signature zones:

Reception & lobby
The entrance area features curved architectural forms, premium materials, integrated technology, and a hospitality-focused bar. Transformative elements, such as a gradient screen and a foldable interactive service table, highlight luxury and craftsmanship.

Transformative lounge
The central lounge includes two multifunctional curved touch screen displays and a large presentation table that converts into four individual tables. This space adapts from a collaborative workspace to a fine dining area, meeting the needs of business teams or coaching staff.
The table features Lufthansa Technik’s Hidden Touch technology, allowing passengers to control cabin functions through a touch panel that disappears into the surface when not in use.

Private suites
The “BOW Suite” design features arcs, soft shapes, progressive forms, and premium materials to promote wellbeing. Lufthansa Technik technologies are discreetly integrated into the furniture. Acoustic shields, mood lighting, scent options, and subtle storage provide a balanced environment of luxury and functionality.
Integrated cabin technologies for a seamlessly orchestrated experience
The cabin incorporates Lufthansa Technik’s "nice" system ("network integrated cabin equipment"), integrating advanced technology throughout. Features include Hidden Touch displays, inductive charging modules, curved OLED screens, next-generation remote controls, and special lighting effects. The "nice intellitable" combines high-definition touchscreen functionality with a high-quality haptic folding tray table.
Lufthansa Technik’s Red Dot Design Award–winning Omni‑Fi speakers provide immersive sound. Their ultra-slim form, enabled by Ring-mode Converter/Transducer technology, ensures optimal omnidirectional sound while blending discreetly into high-end surfaces.
The network‑integrated cabin management platform »nice« enables effortless control of even the most sophisticated onboard systems. Passengers can intuitively manage lighting, climate, seating, and a wide range of multimedia functions through a modular, flexible interface that integrates naturally into the cabin’s exquisite design language.
