FRANKFURT — Due to increased demand for short-notice long-haul flights, the Lufthansa Group will offer several additional flights, particularly to Asia and Africa.
The conflict with Iran has led numerous airlines, particularly those operating from hubs in the Middle East, to cancel scheduled services due to airspace closures. This has left many passengers stranded in different locations.
Destinations in Southeast Asia are being affected, as many travellers fly to the region on Middle East-based airlines.
Additional flights offered
Lufthansa (LH) plans to add several extra flights at short notice in the weeks ahead. The airline will operate four extra flights between Munich (MUC) and Singapore (SIN), as well as two special flights between Frankfurt (FRA) and Cape Town (CPT).
Extra flights between FRA and Riyadh (RUH) are also being planned.
Austrian Airlines (OS), a Lufthansa Group airline, will also operate additional flights. It has set up 10 additional flights between Vienna (VIE) and Bangkok (BKK).
The additional flights have already been published and are available through all sales channels. The Lufthansa Group says it will communicate any additional flights.
