Perspective: flydubai's CEO on Fleet Expansion

DALLAS — Recent rumors saw the Middle East occupying the front pages of digital news handles. A shopping spree may soon be delivered by airlines in the GCC. According to a Bloomberg report, it is rumored that flydubai (FZ) will be in talks for up to 300 narrow-body aircraft.

Partially confirming the report, FZ’s Chief Executive Officer, Ghaith Al Ghaith, told Airways:

“We are in constant discussions with the aircraft manufacturers regarding future aircraft orders to support flydubai’s growth trajectory. Advance planning and reliable aircraft delivery schedules are an integral part of the success of any airline’s expansion and aircraft replacement strategy. We are currently assessing our requirement for narrow-body aircraft and any decision will be announced once it is finalised.”

With the Paris Airshow just a few months away and the Dubai Airshow taking place in November, some of the GCC orders could be announced before the end of 2025.
