‍Finnair Expands Southern Europe Summer Network

HELSINKI — Finnair (AY) will expand its Southern European network in the summer of 2026 with three new destinations: Catania, Florence, and Valencia, in addition to scheduled flights to Kos, which has been operated as a charter route to date.

The growth is meeting high demand from holidaymakers in Finland and Northern Europe for both cultural city breaks and Mediterranean seaside destinations.

New Additions

From late March 2026, AY will introduce three weekly flights to Catania, followed by twice-weekly services to Florence and Valencia in April. Kos will join the schedule in May with two weekly flights through October.

The extended season highlights the carrier’s efforts to align operations with peak leisure demand, which stretches from spring into autumn.

Increasing Visibility

AY strengthens its already extensive Southern European portfolio with new additions. Rome, Milan, Venice, Naples, Verona, and Bologna are all included in the Italian network.

Spanish cities with services include Madrid, Barcelona, Alicante, Malaga, Palma, and other Canary Islands locales. Greece remains a stronghold; Chania, Heraklion, Rhodes, and Santorini are already on the calendar.

In Europe's most robust summer markets, AY positions itself to draw both mass-market and luxury leisure tourists through the smart combination of resort islands and cultural towns.
