DALLAS — American Airlines (AA) has announced that Fiji Airways (FJ) will join the AAdvantage travel rewards program in 2025 when the the South Pacific airline becomes a full member of the oneworld Alliance.
Fiji Airways is currently a oneworld connect partner and serves 26 destinations in 15 states and territories, including oneworld hubs Sydney, Hong Kong, Los Angeles and Tokyo.
Fiji Link, a wholly owned subsidiary of FJ, will become an affiliate airline of oneworld, extending the alliance’s network by bringing flights to domestic destinations; as well as "regionally to the Pacific Island nations of Tonga, Samoa, Tuvalu and Vanuatu, according to oneworld.
As per the AA release, AAdvantage members will enjoy "a seamless experience when traveling on Fiji Airways, receiving benefits such as priority check-in, priority boarding, complimentary baggage allowance, preferred seats and enhanced award redemption."
American Airlines launched its frequent flyer loyalty program in 1981, making it the longest-running travel rewards program in the world. Today, AAdvantage gives members more ways to earn and use miles. Fiji Airways customers can join AAdvantage by visiting aa.com.
