EVA Air to increase frequencies to North America

DALLAS — Earlier this month, EVA Air (BR) launched its latest nonstop connection to North America, becoming the only Asian airline to serve two destinations in Texas.

The new Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) service will increase daily flights before the end of the year, matching Houston’s (IAH) frequencies, for a total of 14 flights a week to Texas.

Initially served by the Boeing 787-9 featuring BR’s latest Premium Economy product, the airline said the aircraft type deployed on the new route might be adjusted based on passenger and freight demand and seasonality.

According to a BR spokesperson, “The initial reaction to the route launch was overwhelmingly positive, with passengers expressing excitement and enthusiasm. There was a strong consensus that the new service provides a more direct and efficient travel option for passengers between North America and Asia. The route not only shortens travel time between Taiwan and Texas but also serves the growing demand from corporate travelers in the region.” Around 70% of passengers on the new DFW-TPE route are connecting.

2026 Plans

EVA is looking to increase its flight frequencies to New York (JFK) and Seattle-Tacoma (SEA). The airline is also continuing to explore new long-haul destinations in North America. EVA Air will add three Boeing 787s to its fleet, bringing its total to 23, consisting of 10 787-9s and 13 787-10s by the end of 2026.

In 2026, the airline will announce its refurbishment plan for the large Boeing 777-300ER fleet, BR’s long-haul backbone. While BR confirmed the premium economy product will be as identical as possible to the one installed on the Boeing 787s, a new Economy Class and Royal Laurel hard product are expected.

Shortly after, BR expects to take delivery of its first Airbus A350-1000 from 2027 through 2033. With 24 units on order and similar cabin specs, it can be expected that both the refurbished Boeing 777-300ERs and the brand-new A350-1000s will feature the same hard product.
