DUBAI — Emirates (EK) is enhancing its London Heathrow (LHR) operations, adding six extra flights a week. That brings its total to 48 weekly services, which works out to almost seven flights a day.
The increase highlights the significant importance of Heathrow to the airline’s global network. The Airbus A380, a familiar sight at the airport, will operate several of the flights. The expansion comes as EK looks to meet growing travel demand ahead of the busy winter travel season.
With this addition, EK will now operate a total of 146 weekly flights to the UK, covering its three London airports—LHR, Gatwick (LGW), and Stansted (STN)—as well as regional gateways including Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Glasgow, and Edinburgh.
Flight Schedule Details
Flight EK41 will depart Dubai on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday at 13:40hrs, arriving in London Heathrow at 17:40hrs.
The return service, EK42, will operate as follows:
On Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday, it departs from London Heathrow at 22:35 hours, arriving in Dubai at 09:35 hours the following day.
- On Tuesday and Saturday, it departs at 21:20 hours, arriving in Dubai at 08:20 hours the next day.
- On Thursdays, EK41 will leave Dubai at 12:55hrs, landing in London Heathrow (LHR) at 16:55hrs. The return flight, EK42, will then depart from London Heathrow (LHR) at 21:20 hours, touching down in Dubai at 08:20 hours the following day.
The UK remains one of the EK’s largest international markets outside its home base in Dubai. Heathrow, in particular, is a critical hub for both business and leisure traffic, connecting passengers to Dubai and onwards to destinations across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Australasia.
Emirates’ decision to scale up capacity comes as transatlantic and Europe—Asia travel flows rebound strongly, and with the carrier positioning itself to capture demand during the peak winter holiday travel period.
