DALLAS — Emirates (EK) and Avianca (AV) have launched a new codeshare agreement.

Expanded Network for Passengers

Emirates' customers traveling from its huge Global network can now enjoy direct connections to three popular Colombian cities: Bogotá (BOG), Medellín (MDE), and Cali (CLO).

The codeshare flights will operate via Madrid (MAD), Barcelona (BCN), or London Heathrow (LHR). These flights include MAD to BOG, MDE, or CLO; BCN) to BOG; and LHR to BOG.

Moreover, Avianca passengers flying on these codeshare routes will experience the comfort and luxury of EK's aircraft. Passengers can look forward to premium onboard amenities, including lie-flat seats in Business and First Class, a renowned in-flight entertainment system, and a variety of delicious onboard dining.

“We are delighted to establish a codeshare partnership with Colombia’s largest carrier, Avianca to provide seamless connections on select routes to customers of both airlines. The codeshare agreement will enable us to expand our reach and allow our customers to use our services and fly to additional popular points in Colombia," said Adnan Kazim, Deputy President, and Chief Commercial Officer, Emirates.

Streamlined Booking, Baggage Convenience

A key advantage of this codeshare agreement is the ease of booking travel. Both EK and AV passengers can book their entire itinerary on a single ticket, eliminating the hassle of managing separate reservations.

Additionally, both airlines will adhere to a single baggage policy, ensuring a seamless travel experience from check-in to final destination.

As a whole, this new partnership aims to provide passengers with greater connectivity, flexibility, and comfort while traveling between DXB, Colombia, and key European destinations.

“We are very pleased to launch this codeshare agreement with Emirates which ratifies, once again, our commitment to connectivity, access to new destinations and a greater attraction of passengers to Latin America. This collaboration will bring our region closer to Dubai via Europe and it will also strengthen Avianca’s operation in Barcelona, Madrid and London Heathrow," said Claudio Vélez, Chief Revenue Officer, Avianca.
