ZURICH — Edelweiss (WK) has operated its first nonstop flight from Zurich (ZRH) to Windhoek (WDH) in Namibia.
The Swiss leisure carrier will offer this seasonal service up to three times a week until the end of October. Initially, WK will fly to WDH twice a week, with flights on Mondays and Fridays.
Then, from mid-July 2026, the airline will expand this service to three weekly services until the end of October. Flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Expanded African footprint
With Windhoek in its network, WK expands its offering in southern Africa, providing travelers with a direct connection to one of the continent's most impressive travel destinations.
The leisure airline offers services to various tourist hotspots across southern and eastern Africa. Destinations include Kilimanjaro (JRO), Zanzibar (ZNZ), Cape Town (CPT), Mauritius (MRU), and Seychelles (SEZ). Some of these are seasonal operations.
“Namibia fascinates with its unique combination of endless expanses, impressive landscapes, fascinating wildlife, and a starry sky that is second to none. We are delighted to be able to offer our guests this exceptional travel destination nonstop from Zurich from now on,” says Bernd Bauer, Edelweiss CEO.
