Flight of the Condor: European Summer Expansion

DALLAS — Condor (DE) expands its flight summer 2025 network to include eight popular metropolitan cities for city trips. The cities include Frankfurt, Rom (FCO), Milano (MXP), Prague (PRG), Vienna (VIE), Zurich (ZRH), Berlin (BER), Hamburg (HAM), and Munich (MUC).

Following the success of introducing other city destinations like New York and Bangkok on long-haul routes, Condor is now capitalizing on the growing trend of combining business travel and leisure on short-haul routes, known as “bleisure.”

Condor flies to over 65 destinations in Europe, Africa, Asia, and The Americas. It has operating bases in Berlin Brandenburg, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Leipzig/Halle, Munich, Stuttgart, and Zürich.

"With the addition of these eight new city connections, each of which will be offered daily in the summer flight schedule, Condor is expanding its offerings to include exciting city destinations where guests can have a fantastic time," said Peter Gerber, CEO of Condor.

Gerber added that the budget airline had long since moved beyond being a classic vacation airline. "We are constantly developing our flight schedule to meet the needs of our guests."

In response to the rising location costs in Germany, several other airlines have also announced capacity reductions. DE will also be shifting flights to markets with high demand for city connections, such as Frankfurt, and to tourist programs organized by local tour operators. For this reason, an additional aircraft will be stationed in Zurich, Vienna, Prague, Milan, and Rome from Germany next summer.

Exploring Airline History Volume I

David H. Stringer, the History Editor for AIRWAYS Magazine, has chronicled the story of the commercial aviation industry with his airline history articles that have appeared in AIRWAYS over two decades. Here, for the first time, is a compilation of those articles.

Subjects A through C are presented in this first of three volumes. Covering topics such as the airlines of Alaska at the time of statehood and Canada's regional airlines of the 1960s, the individual histories of such carriers as Allegheny, American, Braniff, and Continental are also included in Volume One.
