SAL — Cabo Verde Airlines (VR) aims to launch direct services between Amílcar Cabral International Airport in Sal (SID) and Recife International Airport (REC) on October 31, 2026.
The airline will operate this service once a week using a Boeing 737-700 aircraft. The 737 is configured with 138 seats. Flying time for the route is expected to be around four hours.
Flight Schedule:
- Flight VR 667 will depart from SID at 19:00 and arrive in REC at 21:10 the same day.
- Flight VR 668 will depart REC at 00:05 and arrive in SID at 06:05 the following day.
Additional South American Route
The new service is not VR's first route to South America. The carrier operates a weekly connection between REC and Praia (RAI). This route was introduced in May 2026.
For Brazilians, the new SID - REC service creates opportunities for tourism to the African archipelago of Cabo Verde; and for connections to other destinations in VR's network.
Currently, VR operates services from Sal to Milan (BGY), Bilbao (BIO), Lisbon (LIS), Providence (PVD) and Praia (RAI); From RAI it flies to LIS, REC and SID. From São Vicente (VXE) it operates flights to Paris (CDG), LIS and RAI.
