HOUSTON — Avelo Airlines (XP) has extended its published flight schedule through November 17, 2026, allowing customers to book fall travel to over 30 destinations. Promotional one-way fares, according to the carrier.
The expanded booking window includes leisure-focused Florida markets, Northeast routes centered on New Haven (HVN), and major hubs such as Atlanta (ATL), Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), Detroit (DTW), Orlando (MCO), and San Juan (SJU).
The Ultra-low-cost carrier (ULCC) also emphasized its reliability and secondary-airport convenience, noting it ranked among the top U.S. carriers for on-time performance and low cancellation rates in 2025 (citing Anuvu data).
Extending the schedule is a low-cost strategy not only to secure early bookings but, more importantly, to provide certainty for price-sensitive travelers and to capture shoulder-season leisure demand, particularly on less competitive routes at smaller airports such as HVN.
Avelo Fact Sheet
We don't write much about XP, so here's a bit of general knowledge about this American ultra low-cost carrier:
- Milestone: Avelo became the first new U.S. airline in nearly 15 years when it launched scheduled service on April 28, 2021, flying BUR–STS.
- Milestone: Avelo placed the first U.S. order for Embraer’s E195-E2—50 firm aircraft with rights for 50 more (deliveries start 2027).
- Network: The airline focuses on smaller, less-congested airports (e.g., Hollywood Burbank, New Haven, Lakeland) rather than major hubs.
- Service & Fees: They often feature no change or cancellation fees, aiming to provide a more convenient experience than traditional budget carriers.
- Fleet: They operate a fleet of Boeing 737 Next Gen aircraft. With 17 aircraft, XP is a true “small carrier,” roughly one-quarter the size of Breeze (MX) and about one-tenth Frontier (F9).
- Strategy: In 2025, the airline began a major network restructuring, reducing flights to improve profitability.
