American Adds Texas BBQ to First Class on New York Routes

FORT WORTH — American Airlines (AA) is bringing a taste of Texas to the skies, introducing Pecan Lodge barbecue for First Class passengers flying from Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) to New York LaGuardia (LGA) and John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).

The limited-time menu, available with advance pre-order, will rotate across February and March and highlights one of Texas’ most celebrated barbecue institutions. The new Texan offering follows AA's partnering with Champagne Bollinger and Lavazza coffee both in lounges and in flight.

What’s on the Menu

For February, passengers can expect a traditional Texas spread featuring brisket, smoked sausage, macaroni and cheese, green beans, and potato salad. In March, the offering shifts to a chopped brisket sandwich, paired with roasted green beans and creamy potato salad. The meals must be pre-ordered ahead of departure to be available onboard.

A Taste of Home at 35,000 Feet

“As we celebrate American’s centennial anniversary in 2026, we’re looking forward to delighting our customers in new ways that honor unique regional tastes, beginning right here in our home state through one of the most beloved barbecue restaurants in Texas,” said Rhonda Crawford, American’s SVP of Customer Experience Design and Strategy. “Our customers deserve nothing but the best, and Pecan Lodge is certainly that.”

Founded in 2010, Pecan Lodge has become a cornerstone of the Texas barbecue scene, earning recognition from outlets including Food Network, The New York Times, and Travel + Leisure.

So, should we do a First Class trip report from NYC to Dallas? Oh yes we should...
