Alaska Airlines Unveils 13 New West Coast Routes

SEATTLE — Alaska Airlines (AS)is doubling down on its West Coast strategy with a significant network expansion, announcing 13 new nonstop routes for 2026 alongside increased frequencies and two brand-new destinations on its route map: Tulsa, Oklahoma (TUL) and Arcata–Eureka, California (ACV).

The move signals Alaska’s continued push for market dominance along the Pacific Coast while reinforcing its commitment to Hawai‘i and underserved mid-size U.S. cities. With the additions, Alaska Air Group will serve 142 destinations in 2026—its largest network to date.

San Diego: Alaska’s Fastest-Growing Hub

Already the leading carrier in San Diego (SAN) by destinations served, Alaska will grow capacity by 35% next spring year-over-year. Five new nonstop routes launch from San Diego:

  • Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW)
  • Oakland (OAK)
  • Raleigh–Durham (RDU)
  • Santa Barbara (SBA)
  • Tulsa (TUL) – Daily service

Together with Hawaiian Airlines, Alaska will serve the top 15 most popular markets from San Diego, bringing its total nonstop destinations to 49 from the airport. Service to Santa Rosa–Sonoma will increase to three daily flights, giving Northern California travelers more flexibility.

Portland: Four New Cities Join the Map

Alaska deepens its roots in the Pacific Northwest with four new nonstop routes from Portland (PDX) beginning in May:

  • Baltimore (BWI)
  • Idaho Falls (IDA)
  • Philadelphia (PHL)
  • St. Louis (STL)

The additions bring Alaska’s Portland network to 62 nonstop destinations, including a second daily Newark flight, expanded year-round service to Līhu‘e (Kaua‘i), and more flights to Santa Rosa–Sonoma.

Hawai‘i: Strengthening West Coast Links to the Islands

Alaska continues to lead in California–Hawai‘i connectivity, launching:

  • New Honolulu–Burbank (BUR) route – first time in 20+ years
  • More Maui flights from Los Angeles (two daily + seasonal third)
  • Daily nonstops from San Francisco to Kona and Līhu‘e starting June

By early summer, Alaska will offer daily service to all four Hawaiian islands from San Francisco, matching similar connectivity from Seattle, San Diego, Los Angeles and Portland.

Two New Destinations Take Flight

Alaska adds two new pins to its map:

  • Tulsa, Oklahoma (TUL) – Daily service from San Diego and Seattle
  • Arcata–Eureka (ACV) – Daily service from Seattle, unlocking access to California’s Redwood Coast

With Arcata–Eureka, Alaska will serve more California airports year-round than any other airline.

Santa Rosa–Sonoma Growth

As the #1 carrier at Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County Airport (STS), Alaska adds:

  • New intra-California route to Ontario (ONT)
  • More flights to San Diego and Portland
  • Seasonal service to Palm Springs starting Oct. 26

“With bold expansion in San Diego and Portland, plus new service to Hawai‘i and destinations like Tulsa and Arcata–Eureka, Alaska is redefining what it means to connect guests to a remarkable travel experience,” said Kirsten Amrine, VP of Revenue Management and Network Planning. “Demand across our network is strong—especially with the launch of Atmos Rewards—and we’re excited to offer more choice and flexibility than ever.”

Full schedules and launch dates will roll out in the coming weeks as Alaska opens these routes for booking.
