Air Mauritius to Resume Seasonal Geneva Service

DALLAS — Air Mauritius (MK) has announced the continuation of its seasonal flights from Mauritius (MRU) to Geneva (GVA) in October.

The Port Louis-based airline will relaunch non-stop flights from its base in the Indian Ocean to GVA in Switzerland for the second consecutive year. The seasonal service will recommence on October 4, 2024 and continue until April 28, 2025.

The airline will offer two weekly flights on the route, using a state-of-the-art Airbus A330-900neo aircraft. Flights will be operated on Mondays and Fridays. These direct flights between MRU and GVA offer a perfect escape from the Swiss winter, providing travelers with convenient and easy access to Mauritius's warm, sunny paradise island.

Flights are scheduled to operate as follows:

  • Mauritius to Geneva: Monday and Friday, MK 048 departs MRU at 9.45 AM and arrives in GVA at 7.20 PM, local time.
  • Geneva to Mauritius: Monday and Friday, MK 059 departs GVA at 9.10 PM and arrives in MRU at 10.05 AM the next day, local time.

‘Building on the successful launch of direct flights last year and the positive response on this route, Air Mauritius aims to strengthen its presence in the Swiss market in its second year of operations. This also marks the airline's third touchpoint in Europe within the Air Mauritius network,’ said Air Mauritius CEO, Mr Charles Cartier.

The airline also operates A350-900, A330-200 and ATR 72-500/600 aircraft. Photo: Alberto Cucini/Airways

Air Mauritius Route Network

The airline operates a compact flight route network to various destinations in Africa, Asia, and Europe.

The airline currently has a fleet of 12 aircraft, which service its route network comprising 15 destinations. The airline operates 27 scheduled flights a day. Due to MK's geographical location, most of the flights in its route network are long-haul services operated with widebody aircraft.

Mauritius’ national airline offers scheduled services to London, Paris, Perth, Kuala Lumpur, Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai in India, as well as Johannesburg and Cape Town in South Africa, with widebody aircraft.

The carrier flies to other islands in the Indian Ocean, including Reunion, Madagascar, and Rodriques. MK also intends to introduce seasonal flights to Rome in October this year.
