In February, EASA conducted a thorough audit of the SIM. The Azerbaijan Aviation Authority’s formal acknowledgment of the EASA audit is still pending. Enhancing Regional Aviation Training

The SIM removes the need for pilots to travel overseas for mandatory training, cutting costs and enhancing accessibility. Further, the NAA Training Center is equipped to handle simulator scheduling, technical support, and maintenance, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

Prof Arif Pashayev, Rector of NAA, Highlighted the simulator's role in shaping the next generation of pilots, “The simulator will not only play a crucial role in training students at the Academy in the relevant discipline but will also serve as a key asset in training pilots and aviators from Silk Way West Airlines, Azerbaijan Airlines, and other carriers operating Boeing 777 aircraft worldwide. It will enhance their skills and ensure compliance with the highest aviation safety standards.”

Zaur Akhundov, President of Silk Way Group, emphasized the airline's long-term vision :

"This initiative reflects our commitment to fostering aviation excellence in Azerbaijan and globally. By equipping the National Aviation Academy with state-of-the-art training capabilities, we are investing in the future of aviation professionals and strengthening Azerbaijan’s role in international pilot education. This simulator will serve our pilots and the global aviation community, setting a new benchmark in training quality and accessibility."
