EASA Grants ATR 72-600 Starlink Certification

DALLAS — The world’s leading regional aircraft manufacturer, ATR, is introducing Starlink high-speed internet connectivity onboard its ATR 72-600 aircraft. EASA granted certification after successful test flights within the last few months and Air New Zealand is set to be the launch customer. Passengers will be able to enjoy in-flight connectivity on domestic flights this year.

PMV Engineering, an organization specializing in aircraft modifications, developed the required changes on ATR aircraft for the Starlink aero-terminal, certified by EASA. A retrofit option is currently available for all ATR operators of the ATR 72-500 and -600 aircraft through a Supplement Type Certificate.

We can’t wait to bring connectivity to our domestic flights. Collaborating with ATR and the PMV Engineering team has been fantastic, and their expertise has been instrumental in bringing this vision to life.”
