LONDON — Singapore-based lessor BOC Aviation announced an order for 43 A320 family jets on Tuesday.

The order will be split between 36 ceo jets and 7 neo jets. Delivery begins immediately and continues through 2019. BOC CEO Robert Martin said the exact sub-types of jet have yet to be decided for the entire order. Seventeen, however, will be A321 jets, which Martin says have been become quite popular in the fast-growing Asia Pacific region. Martin further noted that eight of the jets have already been placed with carriers.

BOC already maintains a substantial backlog with Airbus, 113 to be exact. It currently operates 109 Airbus jets in its portfolio, including 98 A320s.

This story will be updated later on Tuesday.
