The Antonov An-24 is one of the most iconic Soviet-era turboprop aircraft. Its high wings and strong landing gear allow it to take off from nearly anywhere, and land on the most unprepared airfields.
Aviation photographer PAOLO LOATI managed to capture this Air Koryo An-24 as it departed for a quick joyride in Pyongyang, North Korea. Its black-and-white art work, along with the aircraft’s vintage self, make it one curious, intriguing photo that fits well with this month’s special: North Korean Adventure.
