MIAMI – This morning, Airbus Corporate Jets (ACJ) has announced the launch of the new ACJ TwoTwenty Jet. Based on the A220-100 aircraft, it is expected that the new jet will have 2-3 times as much cabin space compared to competitors.
Creating its own business segment, titled the ‘The Xtra Large Bizjet’, the new ACJ TwoTwenty jet will also have a fully flexible cabin catalog. As of today, ACJ has already recorded its first orders for the type, totaling six aircraft.
The ACJ TwoTwenty is stated to be a clean-sheet design based off of the A220-100 aircraft. This means that while the parking a runway requirements will be in line with competitors, the aircraft will have a design upgrade.
The range of the ACJ TwoTwenty is listed to be 5650 nm or 10500 km, which is around 12 hour flight time. The cabin will be outfitted with the newest innovations from electro-chromatic windows to wi-fi throughout the cabin.
Using the benefits of the A220 family, the ACJ TwoTwenty is also expected to have around one-third less operating costs compared to competitors. The A220 itself already has an improvement of 50% noise reduction and 25% reduced fuel usage compared to previous generation aircraft.
With the customizable cabin offerings, ACJ has stated that Comlux will be the exclusive partner for the first 15 aircraft. Comlux has a ACJ-approved completion center in Indianapolis, USA, and their completion team will be partnered with ACJ’s Head of Creative Design, Sylvain Mariat.
In the 73m²/785 ft² floor space of the ACJ TwoTwenty, 18 passengers will be able to sit in 6 VIP living areas.
ACJ TwoTwenty Orders
Airbus Corporate Jets has announced today it won its first orders for the ACJ TwoTwenty. The order totals six aircraft following its launch. According to Airbus, while Comlux has revealed an order for two aircraft, four further jets were ordered by undisclosed customers. Entry into service of the first ACJ TwoTwenty by Comlux Aviation is targeted for early 2023.
Comlux has selected the business and guest lounge as well as a private entertainment space and a private suite, including a bathroom. The cabin, set to “Reimagine your place in the sky…” will be equipped with large full lie-flat seats, a US-king size bed, a standing rain shower, a humidifying system for well-being on board, and leading-edge connectivity.
