Welcome to the first episode of the Airways Podcast, the digital audio extension of our team’s world class written content. The idea behind this podcast is to do a weekly deep-dive into three or four important aviation stories or trends, with a particular focus on aerospace and the U.S. airline industry. This is not a news podcast (in fact almost everything we cover will have been written about on the site by the time we discuss it) but rather one focused on in-depth analysis and assessment.

Moving forward, the podcast will be hosted by Airways Senior Business Analyst Vinay Bhaskara and columnists R and Alex McIntyre, usually joined by a rotating cast of guests (including Airways writers and other aviation personalities). In this week’s first episode, R and Vinay are joined by Airways Managing Editor Chris Sloan and columnist Austin Speaker as we discuss the Bombardier CSeries’ recent hot streak, United’s polarizing new business class product, and the battle for daytime slots for US routes at Tokyo-Haneda.
