MIAMI – Miami International Airport (MIA) has inaugurated daily COVID-19 testing, according to an airport press release.

The onsite testing will be available to nearly everyone passing through MIA whether passengers or employees, the tests are also open to visitors.

A Central Terminal testing facility, located by Door 11 in the Concourse E ground level median, provides Antigen and Rapid PCR tests with results in 15 minutes along with PCR tests with results in 40 minutes.

A South Terminal testing facility, located by the Concourse H TSA Checkpoint near Door 20, provides Antigen tests with results in 15 minutes and PCR tests with results in 40 minutes, Rapid PCR tests will soon be added to the facility.

The South Terminal facility is open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. while the Central Terminal facility is open daily from 2 a.m. to 10 p.m., both are available for walk-ins and scheduled appointments.

Testing at the Focal Point


Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine-Cava praised the sites as “helping passengers meet the travel requirements of their destinations without having to leave the airport.”

MIA Director and CEO Lester Sola described the testing facilities as “the latest steps that we have taken to keep our travelers flying safe and flying smart.”

MIA has also introduced onsite COVID-19 vaccinations, with the Pfizer vaccine set to be available from June 1-4 along with June 7.

Amid the pandemic, MIA has gained new airlines including Southwest Airlines (WN), JetBlue Airways (B6) while existing airlines have added new routes, making onsite testing evermore convenient and necessary.
