MIAMI — Turkish Airlines will re-launch flights between Istanbul and Miami on October 25, 2015 with one of its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The daily flights will depart Istanbul at 1:30 PM local time and arrive in Miami at 7:30 PM local, and the return flight will depart Miami at 9:30 PM ET and arrive in Istanbul the next day at 4:30 PM local, according to AirlineRoute.net. The flights are now bookable.
October 25 will be the first time in 14 years that Turkish has operated out of Miami; its last flight to and from Miami was in September 2001.
Turkish has been expanding its US presence over the last two years with the addition of flights to Houston and San Francisco; both of these new cities are large hubs for United which is a big help for connecting traffic since Turkish and United are both Star Alliance members.
Meanwhile, Miami International continues to spread its wing with the addition of new service. Last winter, the airport reached 100 air carriers when Frontier commenced service, and the airport will continue to see more growth later this year with the addition of Austrian Airlines and Aruba.
