MIAMI — TAP Portugal has begun selling tickets for its three new destinations, Tel Aviv, Dublin, and Basel, which are set to launch in April 2019.

The airline’s CEO, Antonoaldo Neves, said that these three brand new routes are “another step in the path of strong strategic growth that the Company has been going through in recent years and will continue to develop.”

The Portuguese flag carrier continues its expansion in the Central and Far Eastern European region following its code-sharing agreement with airBaltic, signed in June 2018.

TAP’s partnership with the Baltic carrier enables both carriers to link its extensive networks of regional and international destinations.

The new services between Lisbon and Tel Aviv will be operated on a daily basis by what the carrier calls their “A321 Long Range” equipment.

TAP has in its books a deal with Airbus for 15 A320neo, 12 A321neo, 12 A321LR (Long Range) and 14 A330neo.

The two A321LRs are due to arrive in 2019, together with six wide-body A330neos.

The A321LR managed to complete a record-breaking flight of 4,750-nautical-mile flight during its flight testing phase. The LIS-TLV flight is only 2,500 miles apart—an easy mission for the A321LR.

By 2025, TAP will have 71 brand-new aircraft, also becoming the first to fly the A330-900neo in the world.

New Flight Details

The flight will depart Lisbon at 14:20 and arrive in Tel Aviv at 21:30. The return will depart at 05:05 the following morning, arriving into Lisbon by 09:00.

The Dublin services will commence on a twice-daily service, with the first rotation departing at 07:05 and arriving in Dublin at 10:35 in the morning.

The second rotation will depart at 14:00 and arrive in Lisbon at 17:30 in the afternoon.

These two rotations will be operated with A319 and A320 aircraft, offering between 144 and 168 seats each.

Finally, the Basel service will run on a twice-daily basis as well. The first rotation will depart at 06:40 and arrive in Basel at 10:20.

The return leg departs at 11:05 and arrives back in Lisbon for 13:00.

The second rotation will depart at 15:50, arriving in Basel at 19:30 local. The return departs at 20: 15, arriving back into Lisbon at 22:10 the same day.

After these routes have been officially launched, TAP’s total portfolio will go to a total of 91 airports in 36 countries.
