MIAMI — American ultra-low-cost carrier, Spirit Airlines, released a new special livery on one of its Airbus A321 aircraft in conjunction with the new Disney Movie “Dumbo” which is set to premiere on March 29th.

The A321 was wrapped in the livery at a hangar in Detroit then flown to Orlando where it was welcomed by a water cannon salute.

From Orlando, the aircraft is scheduled to visit San Juan, Fort Lauderdale and Baltimore/Washington in its first two days of service.

Here’s how the livery came together.

“As Florida’s Hometown Airline, we are excited to bring the magic of ‘Dumbo’ to our fleet,” said Spirit’s Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Bobby Schroeter.

“The themes in Disney’s ‘Dumbo’ align with Spirit’s mission to inspire our guests and families to take flight with the best value in the sky. This special addition to our fleet is another opportunity to surprise and delight our valued guests and showcase Spirit’s fun, friendly service.”

Spirit recently began offering WiFi aboard all aircraft in a partnership with the Thales Group.

The new option is set to make Spirit a better option for leisure and business travelers many of whom often require WiFi to get work done.

The installation of fleet wide connectivity shows Spirit’s continued investment in offering passengers low fares and great service.
