MIAMI- Ultra-low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines (NK) will be flying directly from Indianapolis, Indiana, to Pensacola, Florida, starting this summer.

From June 11, 2021, NK will fly four times every week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, out from Indianapolis International Airport (IND) to Pensacola International Airport (PNS), according to an IND press release.

First to Fly This Route

The airline will be the first to operate this route.

“We are excited to announce our brand new nonstop flight, connecting Indianapolis with Pensacola,” said John Kirby, Spirit Airlines‘ Vice President of Network Planning. “With the addition of Pensacola to our network, our Guests in Indy will now have easy and affordable access to their next vacation in the emerald-green waters and sugar-white sands of Florida’s Panhandle. Indianapolis now has MoreGo!”

Pensacola, known for its “sugar white” beaches and history, will join Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, Orlando, and Fort Myers as the fifth Florida destination NK flies to from Indianapolis. Florida remains a popular tourist destination for Indiana residents, according to Indianapolis International Airport.

“This is the first nonstop flight out of Indianapolis to Pensacola, and it was our largest unserved Florida destination,” Indianapolis Airport Authority Executive Director Mario Rodriguez said. “Spirit is listening to customers and responding with nonstop destination options that fit traveler demand. That creates new opportunities for Indy travelers.”
