LONDON – On August 30th, 2018, Southwest Airlines, the worlds largest low-cost airliner, based at Dallas Lovefield, has announced a series of new US & international routes, to start in Spring 2019.

Their booking schedule on their website has been extended up to and including the 7th of April 2019, with the new routes bookable.
Most of the new routes will start on Saturday the 9th of March 2019. The new International routes will be operated on a seasonal basis, once every Saturday and are as follows:
St. Louis to Montego Bay (Jamaica) and Punta Cana (Dominican Republic), Milwaukee, Pittsburgh, Raleigh-Durham and San Antonio to Cancun (Mexico) & Baltimore to Los Cabos.
Also starting on the 9th of March are these new US routes, which are:
Cleveland to Tampa & Cincinnati to Orlando.
Finally, the rest of the new routes will start on Sunday the 10th of March 2019 and are as follows:
Dallas to West Palm Beach & Harlingen as well as Houston to Lubbock.
At the end of 2017, Southwest received their first Boeing 737 Max aircraft, from an order for over 300.
The new aircraft have the state-of-the-art Boeing Sky Interior, with free onboard Wi-Fi for passengers to stream entertainment, from the airline’s onboard app.
There will be lots to come from the airline as they receive these new aircraft, enabling them to fly passengers further, at a much cheaper cost. It will be interesting to see where they plan to fly to/from next.
