The branding and the name of the national carrier come from the social media campaign from the airline encouraging Nigerian youth and students for their input and creativity to come up with a new name for the carrier. 400,000 people entered into the competition.

The Nigerian Government has said that they will support the launch of the carrier through a viability gap funding through a Public Private Partnership (PPP) guided by ICAO standards.

Once they have completed their IOSA audit, they can then quickly apply for IATA membership respectively.
