Mitsubishi’s MRJ’s FTA-3 Completes Flight to the US

MIAMI — The Japanese program, Mitsubishi Regional Jet, announced today that the flight test aircraft #3 (FTA-3) landed at the Grant County International Airport in Washington State, 11:24 am on April 1st. It will be tested for airworthiness.

The jet left Nagoya Airport on March 13, but had trouble during the flight and returned with an oil leak in a hydraulic line. After the parts replacement, the jet received another safety check to make a succesfull flight to Hawaii on Saturday.

The total flight distance and time were approximately 14,000 km in 19 hours and 48 minutes respectively. The plane joins three other 4 prototypes that will undergo testing in the western U.S. state.
