MIAMI — In 2009 JetBlue became the official airline of the New York Jets. In 2010, JetBlue dedicated their first sports-themed plane (N746JB) to the New York Jets, deemed JetGreen.
Today, September 26, 2017, JetBlue has reaffirmed that partnership with the Jets by giving the aircraft a new refreshed look. The now fully green painted A320 aircraft with JETS painted in white across the fuselage was shown off during a tailgate-themed event at Jetblue’s hanger at JFK to members of the media, JetBlue employees, Jets executives, JetBlue Mosaic members, and the Harlem Jets youth football team.
“New York is home turf for JetBlue and the New York Jets and we both have loyal fans that expect more of us than the other guys. The new Jets aircraft with taking our partnership to new heights, both literally and figuratively” said Marty St George, executive vice president commercial, and planning at JetBlue.
In addition to revealing the new Jets-themed plane, JetBlue surprised the Harlem Jets youth football team by donating $10,000 to the organization to help it continue its efforts to help young people reach their full potential.
Current Jets Bilal Powell and Buster Skrine, as well as Jets great Joe Klecko, joined the Jets Flight Crew at the event this afternoon.
