FARNBOROUGH — Jet Airways has today signed another deal with Boeing for an additional 75 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.

The deal is worth $8.8 billion at list prices and was signed at the Farnborough Airshow today.

Naresh Goyal, Chairman of Jet Airways, established regarding the acquisition:

“Our latest order for 75 additional Boeing 737 MAX aircraft reflects our long-standing association with Boeing and reposes our faith in the aircraft they manufacture,” Goyal explained.

“The MAX will allow us to offer guests a superior and well-differentiated experience using a modern, reliable and fuel-efficient fleet.”

“The order also emphasizes Jet Airways’ commitment to the growth and potential of the Indian aviation market,” he concluded.

Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and CEO, Kevin McAllister, stated:

“We are honored to extend our deep partnership with Jet Airways as they modernize their fleet with the most capable single-aisle airplanes.”

“This is a testament to the market-leading economics and reliability of the 737 MAX,” McAllister added.

“I am confident that these new airplanes will support Jet Airways’ domestic and international expansion,” he determined.

June saw Jet Airways take delivery of their first MAX. And the carrier is taking advantage of the 20% growth that Indian air travel has experienced through offering lower fares due to lower unit costs on the 737MAX.

Jet Airways currently has 120 aircraft in their fleet, serving more than 60 destinations across 15 countries globally.

For their MAX aircraft, Jet Airways will be using the CFM LEAP-1B engines.

This is quite a significant order for Boeing and is a huge commitment that Jet Airways are making for the 737MAX program.
