LONDON – Indian low-cost carrier IndiGo announced the introduction of non-stop daily flights from Lucknow to the cities of Pune and Goa. Both flights will start from July 15 and July 16 respectively.
IndiGo’s daily departures out of Lucknow will amount to 25 flights to 13 different destinations.
In total, however, IndiGo offers 1,086 daily flights, connecting 42 domestic destinations and eight international destinations.
The Indian carrier is based at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International, with further two bases at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, and Kolkata Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport.
Low Fares, Reliable Service in India
Sanjay Kumar, CCO at IndiGo said that “Lucknow continues to hold immense potential for IndiGo, and we are indeed happy to be the first airline to operate maiden flights between Lucknow-Goa-Lucknow and Lucknow-Pune-Lucknow.”
The Indian LCC will continue its low-cost model on these flights offering fares from US$58 up to $71.
IndiGo currently boasts a fleet of 125 Airbus A320ceo, 35 A320neo, and nine ATR42/72 aircraft.
Through the use of its Airbus fleet, the airline has managed to establish a cost-controlled operation in India, sustaining a robust growth over the years, becoming the most important airline in the country with a strong 40.9% market share.
