Hainan Airlines Launches its First Flight to New York – JFK

MIAMI – Hainan Airlines just launched its first New York service from Chongqing, China.

The twice a week flight is served from Chongqing on Wednesdays and Fridays departing at 2200, arriving the next day at 0050. The aircraft is planned to return from New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) on Thursdays and Sundays at 0250, arriving at 0555. (All in local times)

The route, announced in June, is operated on a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner with 213 seats: 36 in Bussiness Class and 177 in Economy.

Likewise, Hainan Airlines is launching this week a second route to New York from Chengdu, China. The service was announced in August and is set to begin on October 26.

New York marks the carrier’s ninth destination in North America, after Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Seattle, San Jose, Chicago, Boston, Toronto, and Calgary. Also, the HNA Group member, Hong Kong Airlines, has also announced plans to begin flying to New York from Hong Kong starting next year.
