MIAMI — Etihad Airways took delivery of its first Airbus A380-800 in Tolouse,  also using the event to unveil a new livery. The Abu Dhabi-based airline has 10 A380s on order with purchase options for an additional five. The carrier’s A380s are especially of interest due to their ultra high-end Residences and Apartments cabins that were announced back in May. With the delivery of Etihad’s A380, the airline completes the triumvirate of the Gulf 3 to fly the world’s largest airliner.

The Gulf carrier will also unveil the livery on a Boeing 787-9 aircraft Saturday in Seattle, and we will have live coverage of the event. See below for additional photos of Etihad’s livery.

“Only a few months ago Etihad Airways unveiled the new cabin interiors for our A380 aircraft and we are now proud to show the world how this aircraft will look on the outside”.

“The striking new livery also continues our commitment to breaking from convention and doing things differently. This is a real divergence from the norms of traditional airline livery design and will stand out in the sky and at every airport we fly to” Said James Hogan, President and Chief Executive Officer, Etihad Airways.
