LONDON — Emirates has today opened up their 42nd dedicated lounge access across their global network. Cairo International Airport is the newest airport to have the lounge and is available to First Class and Business Class customers as well as Platinum and Gold Members of Skywards, the airline’s loyalty programme.
This investment is valued at around $3.6 million in total and caters to the three daily flights between Cairo and Dubai.
The lounge is located on the second floor of the Departure Terminal 2. The lounge was opened up senior Egyptian officials as well as staff from Emirates.
Mohammed Mattar, Divisional Senior Vice President, Emirates Airport Services, commented on this opening: “Cairo is our first destination in North Africa with an Emirates Lounge – and it underscores our relentless efforts to enhance the travel experience that we offer to customers not online in the air, but on the ground.”
Mattar added: “We are committed to the highest standards of quality in every aspect of our business and the new Emirates Lounge is a testament to that.”
We hope to contribute to the country’s tourism industry in a meaningful way and attract both international customers as well as discerning Egyptian travelers with our premium service,” he concluded.
Ahmed Youssef, Chairman of the Egyptian Tourism Authority, said: “We congratulate Emirates on the opening of their new lounge in Cairo, and see this as enhancing the travel experience for both leisure and business travelers.”
“Emirates’ reputation of excellence and high service standards will definitely reflect on the type of tourist visiting the country from the UAE and the world,” shared Youssef later.
The lounge covers an area of 880 square meters and can offer to seat for up to 152 customers. The lounge has LED TVs, comfortable leather armchairs, a choice of formal and relaxed seating, bespoke artwork, and separate male and female prayer rooms.
On top of this, there are a range of luxury spa products from the Irish brand VOYA, who are award-winning, featuring hair and body wash, conditioner, hand cream and hand wash.
Finally, for the food, the lounge has a dedicated dining area, offering hot and cold gourmet buffet, including local and international dishes to cater for the specific traveler as well as an extensive beverage service.
Customers can also enjoy shower facilities, with a fully equipped business center with touch screen workstations along with complimentary Wi-Fi.
In all, this is yet another successful launch to Emirates’ lounges and will definitely see more lounges being opened up along the way.
